What The Phi Happened?

For those of you who are long-term readers, you’ll remember my personal battle last May/June, where I went from 22% body fat down to around 15% body fat.  It all started with this blog, which explains how a guy can figure out exactly what his body should look like, according to Ancient Greeks.  Sadly, six months later, my body is a shambles.

For those who don’t click hyperlinks, here’s what The Ancient Greeks say I should look like:

71″ tall (unchangeable)
180lbs
7″ wrists (unchangeable)
15″ neck
48″ shoulders
16″ upper arms
12″ forearms
42″ chest
30″ waist
36″ hips
22″ thighs
14″ calves

Now, I will never have a 30″ waist.  Ever.  But, at my best, I did get down to the following:

71″ tall (unchangeable)
180lbs
7″ wrists (unchangeable)
15″ neck
46″ shoulders
14″ upper arms
12″ forearms
40″ chest
32″ waist
38″ hips
22″ thighs
16″ calves

That had me at 15% body fat, down from 22% a month earlier.  I am now back up to that percentage, and here’s how my numbers look today…which is after losing 10lbs over the last two weeks!

71″ tall (unchangeable)
195lbs
7″ wrists (unchangeable)
15″ neck
46″ shoulders
14″ upper arms
12″ forearms
41″ chest
37″ waist
40″ hips
24″ thighs
17″ calves

Now some of this…I don’t know what happened.  I easily had a 38″-40″ waist a month ago.  How did hat happen?  Too much soda; too much pizza; too many potato chips.  It’s disgraceful.  My T-shirts were clinging to my torso for dear life.

Even now, I’m not in good shape.  I need to shed 15 pounds of fat spread between my abdomen, hips, and thighs; my goal is to lose 5″ from my waist, 2″ from my hips, and 2″ from my thighs.

We’ll see how that goes…

  1. wow u really love to share so much huh? i also agree that soda is crap, i stop buying it for my home years ago, and switch to tea & juices , but now i am mostly water…

pizza is ok but u just cant eat too much, potato chips are crap and i haven’t bought them in a long time but i do buy some other things that r not the best also

anyways, good job in always reflecting on yourself and working on improving ur body, yes that is very important to maintain ur weight, i also had a battle with that most of my life, but its a battle i am happy to fight since many other people are even in worst situation.

we just need to love who we are first, and enjoy that we are in a position to be able to afford to buy all that good food, most people in the world cant!
